Kakapo Cottage holiday home on Stewart Island comfortably sleeps 8 people.

Our sunny and warm cottage is located in the main Oban township at Halfmoon Bay within walking distance of all amenities, and Golden Bay for departures to Ulva Island wildlife sanctuary.  

Kakapo Cottage is only metres away from Observation Rock (Stewart Island's most spectacular sunsets) and nestled in native forest reserve teeming with bird life. Kaka, Tui, and Bellbird visit our cottage daily.

Relax and enjoy panoramic views of Halfmoon Bay and surrounding islands and unspoilt native forest .

It is well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen and tastefully decorated with New Zealand native bird art.

Fresh linen, fluffy towels and extra bedding are provided. Tea, coffee and toiletries are supplied on arrival.

Guests enjoy complimentary use of our 2 mountain bikes, double sea kayak and baby gear.
